Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

Hi guys, I got back yesterday from my trip which was amazing. There have been some problems with the transit of my laptop and stuff which will be getting resolved this weekend, though I am starting a new job on monday, so development wont be as quick from now!

People who have downloaded the first version, can I have some thoughts and comments please. I would like to know how you are finding the program to use, are there any crippling bugs etc, and most importantly IS IT USEFUL?

The link for anyone else can be found at http://www.beatbutchermpc.com/hidden.html.
My apologies if I missed anyones pm, I tried to answer them all but some may have slipped through the net.

Time stretch and pitch shift may be implemented, the trouble is good libraries for that sort of thing can be quite expensive for a commercial licence, so I may have to wait and see if I make any money from this first version. I havent really looked into it yet so I really cant say for sure yet.
Cheers
Guy

hey guyb. i've been playing with the program and had a cool idea. what if you were to enable the number pad to trigger the samples that were assigned to the program? it would make it alot easier to preview your program.

glad to hear you had a good trip! Honestly, I think you would raise more than enough $$ to get the time stretch / pitch shift license. Everyone I know with an MPC would use this software :D

thanks for all the hard work! I'm checking out the program right now.

BUG REPORT...
I haven't played with it too much cuz it seems like it's freezing or giving a very slow response to commands

yah. same for me. I'm thinkin maybe I should update my java. when I first load it up I get :

launch4j
"an error has occured while starting the application, the handle is invalid"

good work guy, i checked the program out a little the other day.
I wouldnt worry about the time stretch and pitch shift for now cause other software can do that.
It'd be good if you can make the manual chopping as swift as possible. for me dedicated keys to move between adjacent slices, for triggering the slices and the mouse wheel for adjusting the slice points would be awesome. manual chopping on the JJ os is better than recycle or any daw ive used- if you could make it work like that your on to a winner(in my opinion)

How would this suit people:

A fully customizable key map, so that any key or mouse event can be mapped to any function, kind of like in PC video games where you can choose whatever configuration of keys you want?
