there is no track mixer in any os for the 1000 other than OS2...only a program mixer which controls levels by pad in a program and not by track...and I don't think you can have automated level or pan manipulation through this mixer either...

this may be stupid. .but I think it'd be dope to press a button and have it chop when the button is pushed.

so you can play a 30-sec sample.. play one or two pads to the beat on 1/4 1/8s 16ths whatever.. and it is chopping each time you hit the pad. I think it'd be a quick way to get rough chops done fast.

prob. not possible though

^ good idea. could also be handy for tapping in start and end points.

Randomize pads, Randomize programs, randomise asdr, loop/reverse, start and end points, randomise effects, LFO.
Also being able to control the amount (%) of randomization and have an undo feature.

hold stop and spin the datawheel like a roulette wheel, what ever u land on determines the randomness.

I don't think it's physically possible with the 1000, unfortunately. It'd be great for sure, but I seem to recall reading it'd require a hardware revision rather than a firmware one, i.e. it's outside the scope of the OS.

For the loop editing mode that you can enter from Grid Mode by pressing the Numeric button. In this mode you can sequence using the pads to place a sound in any of the 16th note places for a single bar. This is very much like the older sequencers found on early drum machines like the TR-808. What I would really like to see added is a TAP button that would allow you to add notes for whatever sound you are on, to the beat. Just like the 808. Maybe the Undo button? Since it has no function while in this mode. Just a thought. Many thanks...

i don't know if this is even possible, but i figured i'd ask.

i notice the more recent JJOS increases the maximum notes from 100,000 to 300,000. that's pretty amazing.

is there a way to increase the number of patterns from 99?

see there are 20 songs but less than 100 patterns. so that's 5 patterns per song, which may not be enough if you want to have fills and variations.

^ just make some of your patterns longer, or combine a few.

sure, i'm aware of that "workaround", and done it before on other gear, but it's annoying. say you have to edit something in what is now the second half or towards the end of a pattern. plus in order to combine you have to have the free patterns first to be able to write them first.

i just forsee things getting filled up quickly, and having to unload and load patterns a lot.

hey all, ive been on about this for pure time.

anyone care to shed their thoughts on it, its not a groundbreaker, but it would speed up my liveset capabilites somewhat.

if i get a bit of weight behind it , mbe JJ will implement it....here's a mock up of the screen i imagined.

Image

basically , two new F3 & F4 buttons TR+ / TR- (just as in main screen), AND the active track is shown with FULL outline instead of being dotted, upper left TR number is a new cursor area - updated and corresponds to what's selected as the active track.
