LOW volume, (samples)

I was wondering if anyone can help me with my lil' problem I looked on the forum for awhile but didn't see anything that answered this question. Why is it when i load my sample it seems very low. I can hear it pretty clear & it's not too low where i cant make out what the sounds are. It's just that it's not as loud as the stock sounds or as loud as it is on my computer. I set the volume up to 100 in my [PROGRAM] section but it's still not as loud as it should be. And i have [FULL LEVEL] on too.

Go to Mode+Effect

Scroll over to Master:Comp, go down and switch Effect to Gain and choose +. That will raise the sample's volume applying the effect to it.

Other than that, IDK.

the volume of a sample when you preview it is like at 100 i think. but after assigning a sample to a pad, the volume is at a default of 70

so MODE -> PROGRAM scroll to SAMPLE LEVEL and select the pad/sample and adjust the volume.

Yeah, it's also at 100 when you go into trim mode.

I'll say this though, the MPC is quieter than the other equipment I have hooked up, even with the output set to 0. You just have to compensate on your mixer's gain some times.

Remember to normalize your samples dude!

Thank you, thank you for all the replies. Yea i thnk its just the MPC tho. I think its just generally lower than most other equip. I had the SP-404 before my (amazing) 500, & i have the same samples in my MPC now, & the same samples in my 404 then?(does that make any scense 2 anyone?) but i did turn the volume up from 70 to 100, & normalized the samps. But its still pretty low 4 the [MAIN VOLUME] being turned up all the way. I just like to burn the coils out my speakers thats all. The one feature in other mode helped alot tho. Putting it 2 0 helped ALOT. But now i think when i put my tracks into LOGIC my samples will sound destorted

Have you tried to go to Other mode and set Output Gain to 0?

You're making everything 'louder' but you're sort of trashing the harmonics as well. I don't think this is a real good idea.

Yep. I did that & it works ok. But why would i have 2 do that 2 my samples if my samples are in the same file format & sound quality as the stock sounds? Which my samples are. 44.1 16BIT. I use RECYCLE 2.1 & my waves look good.

Output Gain is not about samples, it's just a kind of limiter that affects main output. And it is used to get the most of signal-to-noise ratio, when you use an external mixer, for instance.
