256mb memory not working??

So i put in a Micron 256mb Pc133 Cl3 144 pin...and after installing I closed it back up and now when I turn my mpc1000 on its just the green screen but blank and doesnt seem to recognize or acknowledge the memory i just put in...HELP??? return the memory and try another or what? Any help is much appreciated.

Try re-seating it a few times. If that doesn't work, take it back.

it can't take that much. but i think i've heard people using those and it just shows up the 128 that it can take. but i'd be willing to bet it wont work cuz its 256. if you got a 128 it would most def work (as long as the specs fit)

All the 128 upgrades are 256. The Akai architecture only reads half the memory addresses, so a "real" 128 would only give you 64. I think that's covered in the sticky topic.
