New MPC 2500

Hi People,

Ive just joined this site today 31st July 2008,

I have just bought a second hand mpc 2500 from a guy who bought it, but didnt
really understand music & was not very technical,so he got bord & sold it to me,
for £570 the machine has not had anything upgraded so i would like some advice
please

im brand to using mpcs,i have just ordered a cheap copy 128 memory,
& ive also been reading about AKAIs OS+JJ OS can you advice me what
to do with this machine to make it all for some great use..

Please let me know everything you can as im new.

ALSO CAN YOU ADVISE ME ON THE DOs & DONTS.

Just read the manuel and experience...

That was not very helpfull,

The manual doest not give experience,im looking for experience advice,
if manual was all i we needed there would be no need for forums.

If you're brand new to using MPCs, people could tell you all the techniques and advice from experience in the world, but until you play with the machine and read the manual, you know get your OWN experience, you won't know how to implement them. Some people can really get the hang of the machines without reading the manual, but most cannot. Let the manual be your teacher first, and then your reference later. You don't start fighting with weapons your first day of martial arts class.

Yup.
I have had my 500 for 3 months. First 2 days all I did was read the manuel and just mess with the MPC.

Now I just constantly mess with it but have to go to the manuel for reference here and there...

Dont Not Read the Manual

Experiment and Have Fun

Do what I do since I registered here, read, read and read more. There are some must see links on top of Getting Started I think. Check youtube for MPC2500, plenty of crazy stuff and gifted people which will give you an idea on how you could use it.
You sound like you bought it without thinking on how it would blend into your workflow and music creating mojo.
