Cursor Problem

Hi!

I have a MPC2500 with JJ OS 2, it's about 1 year old and the cursor isn't working correctly.
The problem occures only when I'm pressing the <down> arrow. I press it once but it looks like it'd press it twice cause the highlighted area skipps two times down.
What should I do?
I cant really send it to a Akai service cause I live in Poland and we dont have one here...

Maybe I should take my MPC to parts and clean it, would that help?

Thats what I would do. But only do it if you feel confident about it, because you could really mess something up! Also during your cleaning I would Blow on it getting rid of any loose dust or dirt debris, And right where the actual click is (By the way does it still have a nice solid CLICK when tapped, If not I would DEFINATELY buy some new buttons) Don't LAUGH But just put A tiny tiny bit of WD-40 on it, YES, WD-40 works very well! Do not SATURATE IT! Remember just a drop, Do NOT spray it, It will go everywhere, Put some on a paper towel or some tissue and sqeeze out just a drop! A Q-Tip might also work, GOOD LUCK! Let know if it works out for you.

Don't use WD-40!!!!!!

Get some isopropyl alcohol to clean your mpc. WD-40 is no good for electronics.

Yes, alcohol will clean it but also, It will dry the hell out of it. Trust Me, A very Very Very Very Very Very Very VEry Small amount of WD-40 will not hurt it, I have used it plenty of times through out the years for Static/Cracklin' Knobs and faders and it works very well but you have to know what you are doing. If you have any doubts about going inside your MPC - DO NOT DO IT, Take it to an authorized repair center. Good Luck!
