Bass Samples Bass Samples

Ok...
I have tried to read examples of how to find good bass sounds to play out.
Is there a specific kit, not for pre played bass lines, but simply bass notes that you can d/l or make (w/o) live instruments that sound phat (like the average bass note that accompanies kits in every hip hop track you hear). I am a digger who is looking to expand the sound beyond only analog...can someone break it down for me...thanks

Some hip-hop has what sounds to me like very low pure sine waves, so I made the "PureSine" PGM for that. It's a very small PGM, the samples are tiny.
Sounds wimpy? Send it through the Bit Cruncher ... then hit two adjacent pads at once for some nice "aliasing"

The k5k samples are a lot bigger, might be too hi-tech for you, but "k5k-crystalz" and "k5k-bells" sound good to me at the low end.

You can Find Plenty of Bass PGMs also at Dustmightz.Net, These are a bit big, around 3mbs, but Because they are 16 Multi Samples. Lowest Key Is usally D2, They are From Hardware Synths I own that Ive sampled So I dont need to carry them around with me 1k, most of the time.

Well, there is the venerable Novation BassStation series... (http://www.novationmusic.com/). They don't make the physical rack any more, maybe e-bay has them, but they now sall a plugin virtual version of the same thing...

"Any" Synth Can be used for Bass, with a lil bit of Programmin Knowledge.

you can make your bass from almost everything, and then apply some effects on ot, like a simple EQ, will do miracles.


Stereoroid: I got a K2000VP and I love it, so I can only imagine how great the K5000S must be .

It definitely rocks. I can vouch for that (K5000S in my rig as well)

The keyboard action is also absolutely amazing. Another overlooked gem is the Novation Nova. They can be had for almost nothing now...

The Supernova II is Sick. Great Lead s and Basses.

effect, the k5000 is a kawai product, is the k2000 a kawai or a kurz?

I have the S too, nice keys except the black are too skinny.
