I'm finding that i'm doing a lot of e-digging lately (not that wack mp3 finding shit) and it's quite depressing.

I mean i'd love to go digging but i seems like theres **** all around and i can get way better deals on the internet than in the stores it seems

The best record store is over 60 miles! Costs a packet to get there from where i am now and i can't be assed to go there like every weekend!

Do you dudes seem to be using the internet a lot more now?


and is it me or has spending on vinyl in the UK calmed down a bit due to things like the credit crunch and everything going up?

im in the us but yea ive started looking for vinyl on ebay a lot lately especially after i got some stuff overpriced (see other thread ha). it seems like prices are all over the place but there is a lot more. I can either buy stuff i see everywhere at my local record shop and pay a little too much for it or get lucky a little more often and find a good deal on something dope on ebay.

that being said i still go garage saleing consistently each weekend and enjoy it a tonnn more.

i havent bought records online in about 2 1/2 yrs now, there was a point where i bought on line all the classics that i was looking for OG copies , but thats cause it was hard to get these records , but i dont see nothing wrong it's a lazymans way, but sh!t i have done it too,from my home in my boxers....and the UPS chick is cute,but thats besides the point,

you just have to use it as a tool cause you will spend way to much money online cause shipping is a mathafucer,the mojney you spend on shipping can get you some more viynl and prolly something better then what you just bout on line ,cause everyone and there mother has it.


sometimes you just have to get out to dig,thats one of my favorite pasttimes, i dont do it much anymore cause money is not cheap these days.

I get all my shit from going out and digging. I guess I'm fortunate enough to have many stores around me.

ebay is cool.

do what you feel you need to do. if record stores in your area aren't satisfying then **** it. who the heck cares about if you're "e-digging." dude i live on a rock in the middle of an ocean and there's only so many records, there are very few opportunities once in a while to score some really good records that probably wont make it here except for that one occasion. don't let people fool you into thinking you need to piece your collection together only records bought at a record store. i don't know what you're looking for, but nothing beats on-line for out of print, limited pressed records. it's still a chase to find the best deal and find the record before someone else jumps on it.

Don't know about the credit crunch...went to the one of the Music Exchange shops in London today and got 6 records for £8...when I got em home no duds, been listening to them all afternoon

I suppose if you're unlucky to have no shops nearby ebay's perfect. Wat you probably miss out on is the random element of taking a chance on a sleeve or something...if you've got discogs and a small jpeg...

Nothing wrong with getting records from ebay at all! I just picked up some really rare soul 45s from really crazy labels I've never heard of before. I cant wait to get em! But thats another thing about ebay is that there is ALOT more 45s then regular lps. But 45s are the shit too man, just dont get as many songs! But anyway, ebay is a great way to get records. especially if you buy a "lot" of records. Its the cheapest and best way today to get dope stuff!!!
