mpc2000 crash

what up everyone?

it's been happening for awhile now...normally the crashing occurs after playing w/ the decay of a sample on the parameters screen.
today it crashed, but i still had navigational access and could trigger samples in the trim screen, but as with any crash the other sounds would follow and eventually sounds similar to 'glitching' would come about and so forth.

was wondering if anyone experienced this and if there is any suggested solutions that i could present when getting it repaired/serviced.

I remember having the 2k crashing when I did exactly what you did - when a busy sequence was playing. I believe this is a bug, and what you can do is solo the track or stop the sequence while you make decay adjustments.

****...maybe an older O.S. is the route to go

actually, what OS are you using .... you might need to update to a new OS

i'm using 1.72 which i thought was solid. maybe a new copy could do the trick

Could be the ROM or could be Memory.

true...that's gon happen this weekend more than likely. my niccuh told me to run it w/ each 16 meg and see if anything wierd happens..
other than that, maybe to used some compressed air (can) and clear out some dust.
