you may still need to replace the sensor on the circuit board. check the plastic button first if its bent then that may be causing it. if not then its that red button and you can get one on mpcstuff.com you will need soldering knowhow though.

There is a guide by mpcstuff.com on youtube on how to upgrade the pads, if you follow the first few basic steps it shows you how to take the lid off and from there its just basically unscrewing the circuit board from the 1k frame finding the solder points, desoldering them (buy desoldering braid highly highly recommended) remove button and place new button and solder.

when soldering dont just blast the board with heat you can fk it up

i myself soldered a new jog wheel on a 2kxl with basically zippo on soldering experience.

if you attempt to do this yourself #1 item that is a must have (besides a soldering iron :) is desoldering braid) the braid sucks up solder like nonones business.

i wish i could help more but i dont have a 1k anymore.

Take the screws out and carefully remove the white clips (the ones with all of the cables on it) you then should (maybe) be atleast able to flip the board over. you should then be able to desolder it and now after looking on mpcstuff.com the red button they sell is the wrong one that goes under the bigger buttons only. and it looks like they dont sell the smaller one as indicated on the pcb board

hahha damn after looking at that pic its mirror flipped around.

Whoa!!! Before you do all that.
Go buy some Detoxit or Contact Cleaner
Take the Lid off the MPC and Blast underneath the Button into the (tact switch) a few times.
Press the button about 10 times to work the cleaner.
Blast one more time.
And you should be good.

ok i opened up the machine and with a cotton buds put some rubbing alcohol on the sensors and gave the rest of the buttons a little clean as well whilst i was there. i let it dry for a few mins and viola, the button is now working. its not 100% and needs to be pressed right in the middle but it does work. pheww....it should hold out until i get my tact switches delivered in a couple weeks.

thanks peeps
