It seems to the that the matel is more true!
The mpc-5000 is just a wannabe cutter.

I would clearly go for the matel drums!!

You mean the posts like...

Dudes, I want to make fat (or phat) dope stoopid beatz. Which MPC is for me? I haven't read any of the manuals online and don't tell me to RTFM because I am too smart for that! I already have a hundred songs planned out, and I will be making trance, techno, house, hip hop, classical and goa.

Then...

How do I make beatz on my MPC? I haven't read the manual or forum cuz I am too bizzzy making dope beatz! The MPC is awzum! If anybody wants to collab, I have lots of really good ideas and I can tell you what to do to make the tracks sound awezum!

Followed by...

The MPC samplez are totally gay! Can somebody post their samplez someplace for me? You can also email them to me directly at [email protected]. I don't have anything to trade, but you'll feel good knowing that you helped a brutha out!

Then...

Some of you jerks told me to go through my crates and sample my own joints. My parents won't let me use the record player when they aren't home, so duh, obviously I can't sample nuffin! I still haven't read the manual but this seems like a lot of work anyways. Can't somebody just give me a taste of phat samplez or somethin'?

Almost done...

Akai and MPC sucks big time. I spent about fifteen minutes using my MPC and can't figure it out. Nobody on these dumb forumz is helping me! If someone as smart as me (and I just turned fourteen) can't figure it out, then it must be garbage. I'm selling my MPC to get the newest MPC (MV, DAW, whatever), because I hear that makes phat beatz and comez with samplez!

Finished...

I got FLStudio and it makes phat beatz! All you losers should use FL Studio, it already has an MPC in it and doesn't even cost anything because I got it off the internetz! Only morans pay for things that you can get for free! The sounds that come with FL Studio are way better than the sounds on the MPC! FL Studio even has demo songs on it, the MPC doesn't demo anything! I have already made two dopez trackz on FL Studio and my mom and dad say I'm amazing, even though all I really did was record the demo trackz and put my name on it. I still need dope samplez though, can anyway please email me or post their samplez for me and my friendz?

Or worse...

which version of the OS (including JJ OS) is best? Is there a specific OS that sounds particularly better?

Also, do wood ends give my reverb a full 'outdoorsy' feeling? An audiophile buddy told me that if I put quarters under my MPC instead of rubber pads that the frequencies sound 'fuller' and more robust. I also heard that if I replace the data wheel with duct tape and bubble gum I could get a cleaner signal path because the 'dirty' electrons would get stuck.
