Hi question from a newbie to all experts and intermediates

yo im quite new to the hip hop producing world but ive been having my mpc 1000 for a year now and dont know what to do with it i want to make beats and record but im not quite sure what kind of equipment i should use to have it all set up all i know right now is that i need a turntable (which on is the best) a mixer (which one has quality and value?) and some cords to connect to the computer (i dont know what to get) i have been sitting around just playing with my MPC (i call My MPC Pete Rock. LOL)but not really making beats and recording. the default drum kits are cool but i need more of like some dj premier Pete Rock Large Pro kinda beats, the east coast drum set you know?im not that rich so i kinda have a tight budget (i cant be spending 800 buck for turntables)thanks people. i really would apreciate it to the upmost.

technics turntable and an entery level vestax mixer.

unitil you get your money together for that, get a cd player if you don't already have one and go through the cd bargain bins and sample that stuff. best to run the cd player through an amp to get the levels up.

If money/price are an issue, then hit up your local Pawn Shops...... You find some very good stuff at great prices.

But as stated above, a cd player hooked up to your MPC will get you going. Drum kits will be ez to get with a little money, but that does not a producer make... You can sample sounds from songs and create a great library on your own. It takes a bit of work, but it is def worth it in the end.

Since you are on a computer posting this, I assume you have on, or at least access to one. I tend to use my Laptop as my music source when sampling MP3's, I do this with a Headphone jack to RCA adapter with some RCA to Mono 1/4 adapters soI canplug into the Rec in of the MPC..... Thatworked for me in the beginning quite well. If the computer has a DVD drive, you can alsosample sounds from a movie....
