Got a new PC, bigger monitors, and JBL L4328's instead of my original Event SP8s. Still debating on the ProjectMix vs the Digi003, and a Meko on the way....so this is all i got so far...if u look at my screen, you see I even pulled up the earlier page of this same thread where i posted my original setup  :

Oasys?! nice! Wish I had that kind of bananas! None of the local shops even have them in to demo... oh well, some day I can dream :)

I like the stand for the mpc 5k, but is it set a little too far back to work on comfortably?

too bad they discontinued the Oasys...... very, very powerful machine!
i wonder how much they are going for on ebay, now

The Oasys was never discontinued. I had to double check with KORG about that. For the price, i wouldnt imagine they'll sell like hot cake. Its tailored for musicians who know and need its features and willing to pay anything. For example; everyone will not have a need for the 4000's features. In turn, the demand wasn't as high before the price drop. We received the Oasys at half price. Employee discount!!! Plus we sold two maxed out mpc 4000s and a maxed out 88 key triton studio. The mpc sequencer was so powerful, i had to get another one. I love the 5000, the work flow is similar to the 4000. The blue screen is easier on the eyes and the effects are decent. I remember the 2500 was considered dog shit in the beginning, but OS updates shut a lot of haters up. Shit!!! I remember went people was talking shit on the 4000 went it first came out. **** what you heard. Look at the track sheet. People swallow their words when the geeks come out. You'll see!

Ummmm..

Hopefully that will never happen. It's like comparing a plasma to a tube TV. You get the same results. Only one is slightly better than the next. Form this point of view. How much valuable is this upgrade worth to you. If you have a Triton Studio, it's like comparing the MPC 2000 to the 4000. If you have the M3, its like comparing the the 2000XL to the 4000.

I don't know about spending that amount for studio gear again. I have to say the new set up is very impressive compared to the Triton series. If you love sound designing. Go for it!

I'm really a MPC fan. So any good sounding soft or hardware synth works for me. Hope that answered your question..

Yeah its nice.. Although there is still the M3, pretty nice workstation.. As for the stand, believe it or not, the the position is like using a second keyboard mounted on a double tier keyboard stand. It felt unusual with the Imac set up because the screen was closer. The position is basically to save space.
