hookup

i just got a technics turntable a behringer mx1604 mixer and a little pre amp. but for some reason i cant get the music to play through my mpc and out my speakers. i got the turntable hooked up in the input of my pre amp, then i got the output of the pre amp connected to one of the line in of my mixer. since my mpc is connected just to regular stereo speakers because i cant afford a monitor yet how do i connect the mixer to the mpc so the my music comes out of the speakers

Sorry komPRESSOR id dont have the answer to your question but a question that goes along with wat ur saying. Would getting the digital outs installed on the 2000xl improve the sound quality of sampling, as opposed to a turntable/mixer setup? Would there be less static or something; wats the function of this exactly and wat's its advantages. Is there anyone out there with the Digital in and out installed on there MPC 2000xl out there? Is there a difference between that and analog sampling? Thanks to any1 who can help. peace

if ur sampling digitally its gona b beta quailty usually, but u mite find the sound of sampling off vinyl has more feel to it

connect the mpc to your mixer, then your mixer outs to your speakers. if your speakers have rca jacks, just get two rca to 1/4 inch converters or what ever your mixer outs are from radio shack . then you can get both playing at the same time. To sample, have a cable from the turntable mixer channel insert or effect send going to your MPC's sample input.

I think the MPC only passes Audio when in sampling screen, but you don't want to run your turntable through your MPC just to listen to records. The set up above wiull save you much grief and I think you'll dig the whole scenario.

yea. right now i got the mixer runin into the mpc cuz i dont have the right wires. but ill definitely take your word for it and put the mixer straight into my stereo. thanx alot. also i dont really like gettin drum samples off of cds and the computer. i just feel like im cheating or something. what kind of vinyl should i get for this

I like the idea of using an effect send to the sample input, but it may not be the best use of an effect send. If you have insets,a cable taking the output of it to the sample input is more ideal.

oh, and place no limits on your sample sources, use what you want, since it's all cheating according to some.
