Having problems loading certain samples on the MPC500

So i was wondering, Ive had the 500 for about two months and I LOVE this thing, but I have had problems loading certain samples FOR NO DAMN REASON. It gets to the point where its just stupid, like I would chop three seperate words and then load two of them succesfully and then no matter what program i chopped the sample on my mac, it just would NOT load it!!!! I have also had lots of problems loading samples that are extremely short (drum sounds) that i have saved on my mac. Anyone have any suggestions? change of software? ANYTHING Please help.

Perhaps you're using a bitrate / sample rate that isn't 500-friendly? Not sure. I've never hit this problem.

hmmmmm, thanx man, that may be it. Well I usually slice n chop my WAVs on Logic since I dont like audacity too much, think if I take these samples I could turn down the bitrate? Whats the most MPC friendly bitrate?

try renaming them. . . e.g.- "Sample1", "Sample2" "Sample3"

I think,I think, the mpc can only load samples that are less than 5mb. Check how many MB your samples are.

man, I'm not sure how to fix that problem. Try upgrading your OS to 1.31, if you haven't already.

When I load samples, I export them as a .Wav and just paste it into a folder on my 500.

That's all I got I man.

a) make sure the name of your samples is not too long or else the 500 gets confused.

b) make sure your samples are in 16 bit WAV format.

I had this happen to me once.

I was making a program out of a bunch of chops and only ONE of them wouldn't load. Aggravating.

I always load up 16bit wav's. The file names were not too long.

I got really frustrated and now I can't even remember the files I was trying to load. I wish I captured the details so I could document a possible bug.
