mpc in conjunction with protools mbox and keyboard

Does anyone use pro tools in conjunction with the MPC?
The people that responded to that prior keyboard question were helpful but they said to buy a mixer. The mbox has tons of inputs and technically it is a mixer.
Would connecting all of these together trigger my keyboard sounds to my mpc.

the mbox will alllow you to record audio, you wont be able to trigger your keyboards sounds unless you hook your mpc and keyboard up thru Midi

Thanks I knew the midi connections had to be hooked up with the keyboard which is an xk-7 synth from emu.
However I was told a mixer with enough ports had to come into play, would the mbox be that suitable mixer it has enough ports. Any one with protools please help. I am a frustrated musician!

The MBox doesn't have enough inputs, it has two analog inputs and a spdif input, you can use one or the other, not both. A low budget mixer will make it possible to route all the audio to the MBox.

Actually there is a hole in the middle of the two mic connections that you can also use for connections thats why the mbox switches between mic, line, and instrument settings. So in actuallity there are four analog connections will this work?

what gear do you have if you are only using your mpc then the mbox will do alone for now but thats just a short term solution if you plan on getting more gear,Synth, Turntable, etc. you are going to need a mixer.

What? The mbox switches between mic, line, and instr. based on what your recording. don't understand playa, mbox got TWO inputs, not FOUR.

~I got the mbox as well It only has 2 inputs the source are the inputs the inserts are not counted as inputs dont get that confused that's for outboard fx that u want to insert into the mbox playa! Thats prolly why u think its 4 inputs but its only 2!

My MBox even came with a manual.
