anyone here have the 4k with the adat card?

anyone use the 4k w/ adat? i heard it's rare. it sounds like a beautiful thing though....

I got it....unfortunately I killed the LCD when I installed it this week. When the MPC is back online again and healthy I'll tell you more about it if you want.

Its great. I use Samplitude with it and I get 8 tracks digitally straight into it and can use vst fx in realtime, dont have to record the audio into the DAW first. Sequence everything with the 4000 and record it through wavelab.

Have it, ain't never used it yet. Of the two that's pictured, one is a model "Studio D" (adat card & spdif I/O, wordclk).

im really jealous. you got any examples online of this?

I dont actually... I dont even know how to make videos like that. If anyone points me to info on it I guess I could make a video. But yeah, its a sweet way to work with the 4000! Best way I found.

not a video... i meant tracks youve recorded with the adat 4000....

Yeah, I'm using the ADAT card on my 4k. It's nice having only one wire for monitoring and tracking 8 outs. I have mine plugged into my Apogee ensemble.

Oh... I actually just got this method to work a few days ago so I havent really completed any full songs with this "new feature".

i've got the adat card on my board as well. picked it up from vst earlier this month for a great price. i think they only have a few left.

anyhow i use it hooked up to my motu 828 mk2, and it's golden in logic. having the ability to record 10 tracks at a time saves so much more time in my workflow.

i haven't had any pop or click issues which i'm very thankful for, and am glad i made the upgrade.

I've been wanting to get the adat card for my 4000 but cant seem to find one.
Hows the signal going from the MPC to whatever interface/program that you are using?
I noticed lately that with my 8 outs I tend to lose a bit of audio but I figured out a workaround with that which can get annoying
but figured if the signal goes out through a digital board that it should record it exactly as it went out correct?

You will loose some dynamics from the analog outs due to them having to go through the converters. Bypassing the converters and going straight through the Adat outs is tenfold better.

My Echo soundcards handle the Adat ins from the MPC.

Hopefully I can accomplish this with my 4000 and digi 002 as i've always gone analog.
Im definately trying to reduce wire clutter and the adat option seems like the way to go.
Any idea on where I can find one?
