Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000
ByTony D Wed Jun 09, 2004 6:35 pm
I recently acquired the MPC4000 and have difficulty making heads or tails out of the manual. I cannot seem to properly download the samples from my CD-Rom into my sequence. I download and save the samples from my CD-ROM (WAV files) into my internal HD. I then load the saved file, but when I go to the main page and select assign the Out1 to Part, and select program, my downloaded files do not show. But when I click on the Samples page, all my samples are there.

What am I doing wrong?

sup Tony,

welcome to the fam,

Samples are assigned to programs
programs are assigned to multis

so ya load ur samples into memory then assign them to a program, then assign that program to a multi in the multi page or main page.
to play a program u have to assign a program to a track in the main page

Thanks! Works great! I even had to discover on my own how to use the window button to activate some very important screens. No where in the manual does it mention how to do this.

Thanks for the tip. Now it's time to work......

I don't mean to be an azzhole, but it actually does mention the WINDOW key many times in the manual. You should download the reference manual from the Akai website this is even more useful than the original manual. good luck.
