abletons awesome like that, its so simple and even saves the computer cpu some resources! all the while giving the user a tight onbeat way of cueing samples.......

its lik ethe old days of radio, where they'd have 'carts' with idents n jingles.......i used to abuse 'on the air studio' (mac os app - for radio 'cart' use.... before ableton was even a twinkle in the eyes of the guys who wrote that 'live') for this very purpose.

"ah them wert'dayz", now of course everything piss easy.

thats what i meant before when i said.....

" the mpc couldn't 'use' a 'play' event from a recorded pad event if its stopped. but i sure could use a 'stop' pad event when its playing."

edit: turns out you don't even need to record a dummy track, just put points in the empty audio grid.

that's amazing shizz! thanks.

now i would really feel for note repeat possibility to retrig the locations in same sync with the sequence itself.

what 's the problem? ive got my mpc slaved to logic and digital performer in the past with no hitches.

i think i was unclear:

i meant MPC master, other stuff slave. then slave machines just go on while you tap the location pads. tempo actually in slave jumps up a bit if you hit MPC pads rapidly.

would be sweet if MPC would sent start/location when you hit them pads... or am i being stupid? feels utopic.
