does anyone knows if it is possible to upgrade OS with another cf card then the original mpc CF?
Tryed to upgrade it with a "sandisk ULTRA II 512MB" card but when I turn on the mpc while holding down window key, there is a message "WRONG CARD!!!" do I really have to use the original card or do I only need to use it while upgrade?
of course I could try, but I think I lost the original card somewere....so if anyone has a sullotion of my problem please help me, my original OS acting pretty wierd...Thanks!!!

welcome to the forums...

you only need the original cf-card if you want to update the os by holding the window button during power up.
if you just put the bin file to the root folder on any cf-card or on your internal harddisk you can start the update by simply loading this file, then the mpc will warn you that this is an os file and wait for your ok.

Selecta Jo and Lyxan.........I have the same issue, same Sandisk Ultra II, but mine's 2GB.

I'm a noob, so I'm not sure you meant what I think by "loading" the .bin file. Do you mean put it in the 128MB RAM, just as if it were a sample or program??
Is that what you meant, Selecta?
Is that what you did, Lyxan?

What happens....the mpc automatically goes into upgrade mode????

I would verrrrry much appreciate a post from you both (or anyone else with experience) that this is the correct procedure to get the same results.
Thank you very much!

I did, and it worked perfectly.
Wish they had put that in the readme.txt for the upgrade.

Obsequious genuflections to Jo for the help.
