you know what... i think you're referring to the S900 with the OS upgrade adding new functions... the S900 manual will help you understand the functions and usage of the S950 better since its translation seems to be alot more fluent, but not all of that info in the S900 manual applies to the S950... it is good to have access to both manuals though...

You are right. When I boot up it does say 1536. I correct myself all that the 2.1 mod does it apply the SCSI interface. I was reading the upgrade for the S900.
No worries though - The S950 has surpassed the S900 aswell.

After further study I think that I'm oing to go with the 2.1 version. It basically allows SCSI interface. It aswell has faster storage and loading process. Besides I heard that the S900 and 950's disk drives start messing up afer a while.

Mainly I'm just reading up on the features and do's and don'ts with this unit. It woks perfect with the MPC60. For all those that want a more broad scape of production tools - Please use the S950 with your set up.

60 didnt sell on ebay so i deiced to keep the 60... been trying to remember how to program drum on a mpc again...

and got me a Emu ESi-32.. DOPE ASS SAMPLER!!!!!... same sound/filters as the emax just more FX and sample time...

but when i link the two up i know im gonna have a hard time... cuz i HATE midi...

and im not asking for USB just expected it to be more of machine cuz of all the hype about the 3000 and 60... i dont see anything special about em now... had a xl and a 2k... deff liked those better then the 60.

There not for everyone but you can't bad mouth a machine when you have a stock MPC60 II with OS 2.12 & No Memory!

i found a memory expan.. so its maxed now... and i got 3.03 on it now...

still... no zone function for chopping it a ****.

word, you got the memory expansion... now if i was you id keep an eye out for a 3.10e OS upgrade... didnt you just cop a rackmount sampler also? the 60 is a beast when it comes to working with other samplers... midi is your friend, get well aquainted...

maybe youre expecting too much from a 20yr old machine

It's not that hard if you have a good idea of what you want to do with it. You get little less than half a minute. Sampled at 45 RPM, that's a lot of room to work with. The limitation actually forces you to be creative and more unconventional.
