how to change looppoints in realtime?

i read somewhere that the 4k is able to do this with the qlinks.

can someone explain me the whole procedure?

i tried it few times with the matrix and with the q-link settings page but it didnt work...

ps: i dont want to modulate looppoints from instruments samples. i d like to modulate some vocals, fx sounds, chords etc. with this glitch/stutter effect.

you can be in trim mode ... set monitor to multi and adjust the sample start end and looppoints while the seq is triggering it.. if you need a preformance version of this ...

you can do multiple copies af the same sample w dif loop settings and assign to pads set them to the same mute group and trigger them live...

its not possible to assign the q links to do this realtime while in play..

What happens is, these people hack the accounts of legitimate ebay sellers and post up these fake listings. And unsuspecting newbie buyers end up falling for it.

You can tell they are fake because:

1) NO MPC 4000 HAS EVER BEEN PRICED THAT LOW and
2) The contact information (email address, BIN price, phone number, etc) is usually a picture, instead of being written out as regular text thats part of the listing.

If the 4000 had a sequence looping feature like that of the MV, i would buy it RIGHT NOW. Unfortunately, I aint buying no 960 ppqn sequencer that doesnt let me set sequence loop points wherever i want, while it has me worry about the tempo of a sample.

Q-link is only capable of changing sample start time, so it will not help with changing the loop points in realtime. Glide's methods are the main alternatives to get around the limitation... unless you are feeling daring and want to dive into sysex. With all the time I spent with sysex, changing loop points in real time was by far the most rewarding for me... def gets that glitch sound you are talking about.

You can use the Q-Link Sliders to modulate the Loop Points in Real Time.

But it's not how you would thing. Instead of using the "Q-Link" setup, go the
the "Sample" mode, Click F2 for Tim/Loop and ensure where it says
"Monitor" in the upper right hand corner, that it is set to "Multi".

Now, when you are running a Sequence on Main Mode, the last sample that you
hit with the Pads, will be enabled when you hit the "Sample" mode button.

Now, hit F2.

If you take the highlighted area on the screen and move it down to LP Start.

Now if you hit "ACTIVE" on slider Q5, you can change the loop start point.
If you hit "ACTIVE" on Slider Q6, you can change the Loop End Point.

Since the "Monitor" is set to Multi. You can do this in Real Time using the Q-Link sliders
while the Sequencer is playing.

So it's not something that you can automate. For that you would need to follow McSmooth's advice
and use Sysex. But if you are looking for a way to do this in Real Time, using the Q-Link sliders..
that'st the way...
