Backing Up using AkSys

I have a MacBook Pro, MPC4000, AkSys 2.6.1 and I'm trying to backup the MPC's hard drive to an external hard drive. AkSys keep seizing up every time I try to either drag and drop the files to the hard drive or select "Copy to Mac".

It starts, I can see the files transferring and all is good then it becomes unresponsive and I have to force quit the program. This is the only program I have ever had to force quit.

Anyone have this problem or know a solution?
