MPC5000 reviews, bug reports and fellow user support on the most recent standalone, hardware MPC from Akai

-as suggested by Coz-

With all the textual "controversy," if you will, surrounding the MPC5000, I think we're forgetting this is a MUSIC thread. It's gotten so technically out of control I think we need to remind people this thing actually makes noise.

Soooooo....

Feel free to post any tracks you've created with your MPC5k, so people with the machine can see what else is being done with it, and people WITHOUT one can get an idea of what you can do.

I think some people are a little bit lost when their music has to do the talking!

But yeah, good thread for those that are actually being productive with the 5K, and no, I am not a current owner (for those that it bothers) but a potential future purchaser. Likewise, I am not an MPC 'collector' either but a producer and enthusiast, so I have every right to be here to listen to what the users are saying.

Hopefully most of you are having fun with the 5K... :)

I too would like to hear some ish from those that own a 5k. I'm really tired of reading quotes on specs and what not. For those of you who can really play, it would be nice to hear how the onboard synth sounds coupled with the drums (minus the sample loops).

This however still won't change my mind on a purchase ('cause I really don't need one, have two 4k's at the moment), but I've never heard anyone compose anything on this thing. All talk and nothing to back it up gets dull after a while, so hopefully the 5k isn't hendering those that have one from exploiting their ideas. ???

Make me a believer!

You interested in selling one of those 4k's... also are they the plus or just the regular ones

Nah...not at the moment, I have a project or two that utilizes both machines. But as far as both being regular, one is standard and the other is a "Studio D" (adat I/O and spdif/wordclk). I use them mostly for their keygroup capability since I play more than I sample.

So will this become a thread where non-MPC 5000 owners challenge actual users to beat battles and insult them if they don't participate?

I can post a link to the DEMO songs on the 5K if you want to hear what they can do. There is already a thread with links to MPC 5000 music...

Hopefully it will be a thread where 'genuine producers' contribute without Akai fanboys or MPC collectors hijacking proceedings.

I completly agree....Genuine producers that actually use the 5K please share your music if you choose.

I am interested to hear what Coz has done using his MPC 5K.

Just because the subject topic includes "5000" doesn't mean you have to chime up jahrome.

A lot of the negativity surrounding the 5k on this board can be directly attributed to you, whether it be antagonising Akai people with shyt like "who are you exactly??", to attempting to diss Just Blaze for the beats he produces... it's just not on mate. In fact it is out of order and childish, and you are helping no one, least of all yourself.

Blue Haze has already made it clear to us newer folk that you were once banned for having a bad attitude. In fact, I was flicking around the MV Nation forum a while back before I discovered this site and you were all over it like a rash putting peoples backs up there too!

Just chill out a bit man. You've got nothing to prove so calm down and stop being so defensive of what people say in here. No opinion is THE definitive opinion, you know what I mean?

Maybe just stick to the technical side of the MP which you obviously excell at... ???
