they do stretch - just try them using the 2 qlinks as tempo and pitch controllers , and they are best (imho) used for drastic tempo shifts with more small slices (rather than a few large slices) and large releases.
they're a bit artificial sounding, but its quite a unique sound, and can work well when really shifting a sample out of context...as opposed to recreating straight up breaks for use at different tempo's that the original.
