Setting volume envelope on bass sound - how???

Hi!

I'm working on a beat on the MPC1000. I have loaded this bass sound into 16-level, but I want to put an volume envelope on it, so it doesn't play at full length each time I play it (it's a really long sound)!

How do I do that???

If you don't want the bass to play the whole time set it to note on in program and it'll play only when you hold it down.

Or maybe go to program , move the cursur over the Lvl then hit window.
this will take you to the amp envelope mess with the attack and decay etc.

I can't find "note on" in PROGRAM. Where is it supposed to be, and is it called exactly that ("note on")??

Select the pad/sample you want to use. with your cursor over the sample next to A01 or w/e, and not on the volume/whatever else there is hit the WINDOW button.

it will give u an option to turn note on or something else. Note on makes it so the sample only plays as long as you hold it.
