OK, I don't know what the hell you guys are talking about with this. We must be on different pages or have different XL's, because I can hit play and just jump in and record over or overdub at anytime without stopping the beat unless I try to record after the beat just changed sequences while playing. Maybe I need to post a vid of exactly what I am talking about and you guys should do the same.

Waitttt!!!!!!!! yall are confusing the hell out of me now........... If you are talking about turning the record(which will I think go into overdub instead) on and off while the sequence is playing while sequencing/playing in different pads, then of course, yes this will work.... But if you are talking about sampling into the MPC a new sample(A friend told me about an "Audio In" command he used on his 500... didn't find it on mine.Do only the new mpc's have this feature??(which is what it sounds like what you are trying to do right here), then no, unless you are trying to sequence in the MIDI notes of the Piano, but not the audio.


I think i understand where DJ Hellfire is coming from and how he's looking at it.

You guys need to stop confusing the initial post and get back to subject. Sampling in and sequencing at the same time is what was asked. Nothing else matters, geez, damn...

Seriously, get to the intiail and main point and not create a point about something else and then force that point
down anothers throat and shyt.
