I was wondering if the mpc 500 could......

i was wondering if this mpc could be used as a midi device to a computer.For istance i have a built in midi game port on my computer and if i get that certian plug and hook it up to the mpc would i be able to use it as a controller in a multitrack program or in fruity loops please lay the knowledge on me softly im kind of a neewb i would appreciate sh**t talkin a**holes to please step out of the forum thank you.

where do u guys get your midi cables from for cheap i need a midi to usb

m-audio has a cable that on one end is MIDI OUT and MIDI IN, and the other end is USB.

its called m-audio uno midi interface i think. im not sure how much it is, but i have one and it works perfectly

I bought a 15$ usb midi cable from amazon.com its working great so far. figuring out the settings to put on the mpc500 it self was the hard part for me. but after that. i have to say it was well worth the 15 bucks. now i can give my younger bro my old korg padkontrol.

Does this cable make sure that the mp and your software sequencer have the same time clock and how would you record things youve done in the software into the mp so i could track it into a multitrack program good question i bet lol i feel like the dumbest neewb lol.

The cable itself doesn't "make sure" anything except transmitting strings of ones and zeros from MPC to PC or from PC to MPC. You have to set up sync in your DAW prefs, if you need to.

I don't get the idea behind recording "things youve done in the software into the mp so i could track it into a multitrack program". If you've done anything in a software sequencer why not track it right there?
