Dear god! ...*almost* makes me want to apologise on behalf of the UK lmfao 
I'd have thought someone with that much age & experience would have read the MPC specs (especially regarding the PPQ resolution) and realised there was a good chance of issues arising from compatibility with other gear...
...which highlights the sensible, common sense, way of doing things which is to ask on forums *before* parting with cash. Oh, and that age and experience don't make you any less of an assh*le.
Sadly this seems to be another example of a stereotypically tight-fisted yorkshireman trying to avoid parting with money and hoping a cheaper product would do the job.
...oh and I used to be a certified Novell Salesperson, an authorised Toshiba hardware engineer and I passed my cycling proficiency test too - but I'll save the other qualifications for a really geeky pointless pissing contest
