I have read through the long posts on finding an alternative to the EXM128 and I am getting ready to give it a shot but i want to make sure I get the right product....So what I have gathered from everyone's research is that:
It has to be 256MB in order for the MPC to see 128MB...right?
It has to be 144 pin, SODIMM, SDRAM for notebooks...right?
It has to be PC133...right?
Is there anything else that I am forgetting?

Also for effekt, did the MPC read all 128MB of the model you purchased or just 64MB? Thanks in advance.

My PNY 128MB Ram was read as 64MB. But if you buy PNY 256MB it will be recognized as 128MB.

Is evrything else correct? Should I go with the 128 or is the 64 good enough? Thanks.

yea, the specs are good. You can always go through the past posts about memory, I posted few links of the compatible RAM chips.

You should buy the 256MB to get 128MB, I bought 128MB to get 64MB, just because it was really cheap back then (17$canadian), otherwise I would have bought the 256MB.
Remember taht with more RAM you will be able to record more, re-sample more, and load more.
