MPC3000 sequence question

Im planning to buy me one of these after all ..
-I had a 60 and I was unable to sequence other gear with the pads without having to hear the internal sounds in the 60.. Is this possible in an easy way on the 3000? More like on the 4000? So can you select a track in 'MAIN' window and assign its output to MIDI out 1-4 and then sequence that gear with the pads? And with a MIDI keyboard?

-How come some have 32mb memory, while 16mb is the limit? Some people say 16 is the limit, others say 32mb is tyhe limit.. WIch is it?!

im pretty sure it will be the same as the 60 as they use the same OS's

you just have to change local to off so it doesnt trigger the internal sounds

I recently tried this, and local off with midi channel selected and drum on was the only way I found it could be done. But once the sequence was recorded and looped back the external synth would play as well as the drum pads. I had to change the completed track to Midi to get it to stop. A little fiddly in my opinion. Also, when recording, using note repeat would trigger the internal sounds even with local off. Changing the track to midi would fix it, but still a bit annoying. Not unusable imo, but not too elegant. I wonder if there is a better way?

Seriously? Are you talking 'bout the 60 or 3000? Or is it exactly the same on both machines?

Btw, do you have one of those very rare Linn MIDI studio?

On the 60 with OS 3.10, it will be the same on the 3000. I am not an expert on this, so I must believe I am missng something.

What I have found is that it takes some getting used to, but it works pretty well, since the drum parts arent recorded.
