Here is something else I would like, it may have been fixed in the Linn OS but I have never been able to check if this happens....

(I'm using OS 2.12 by the way)

While a sequence is playing back AND using note repeat via a footswitch connected to footswitch 1 (i.e. switch on) , I can not turn on/off Full level. To do so, I have to release the footswitch then change the state for the full level button.

It's little things like this that I would loved to be fixed (for all I know it has been fixed in the Linn OS!)

I have been dont some research and it seem the problem for an update is not space for code, instead its hardware limitation and in the 60s case its probably the processor. I concluded this when i realized that our updates require rom switching therefore code space is limited by the size of the rom. Just like the 3000!

So its only a matter of interest, which there doesnt seem to be a lot of.

Let's discuss new potential features and bug fixes rather than hardware limitations.

there was another thread which covered theis topic entensively. There are many quirks which are fixed in the 3000 version 3.1, but doesnt work on the 60's os update.

It is not Akai providing these updates, it is Roger Linn himself or at least his company. The latest OS was 3.10c i believe and thats from 1997.

Roger's "company" is having enuff issues with their own new piece... & where's the boomchick?

Never coming out.

And he Damn sure ain't workin on no 60 update!

Anyways, it's no breaking news that the man around here for new OS's is DON of the MPC3000/60, and Mansell Labs founder, Rohan Mansell.

Well I say the problem for Akai is that its a unit 20 years old that they will need to make new OS chips for... I say its the same for JJ :P

Waiting for the Duke to be corrected
