no way to use "whole" mode in instrument program on the sample select and tune screen?

i'm gonna assume there's no reason to make a feature request as someone surely has already.. this would make my life farrrr easier. i just don't get why its not there

honestly it doesn't seem to really have a use for Tune and Sample select in an instrument program, as the whole idea of the instrument program is to stretch a single sample over a range of pads using the key groups

what I mean is, just using one sample and setting its range as 64 notes, is in essence the same as using the whole function on all 4 pad banks -- if you need to change the tuning of said sample, there should only be one parameter

sure you aren't going to be using only one sample all the time, but if you are setting the original note correctly then why should you even need to tune? unless of course you are deliberately making the whole program out of tune

I guess if there is room for it on the screen then it can be added, but I really don't see how it's that much of a time saver

if it isn't available whatsoever in instrument programs then I agree that it's important that it be added, but I seem to remember it working for things like filter, etc.

most of my multisampled inst pgms contain 28 samples stretched over a range of 3 semitones apiece. when you need to transpose this inst pgm up or down an octave, you have to do this on each individual sample.

it works in the other screens because there's only 1 "pad" total, ie 1 filter setting for the whole inst pgm, etc.

WHOLE in INST pgm sample view and also WHOLE in DRUM pgm LAYER view would be very helpful.

fair enough, and I'm all for adding it

the only thing I was getting at is that it seems like if you've set up your inst program correctly in the first place, that the tune function on such a program is somewhat useless as you can simply play higher notes

if you've only made your program to cover and octave or two though, then I guess you're out of luck
