Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

Here's my problem - I'm using a midi keyboard to play bass on a sequence that i made. the sequence already has all the samples (program) loaded up in memory. my problem is this:

in order to play ALL the bass notes in correct order in my midi keyboard, i would have to load the whole bass program and wipe out what is in memory therefore removing the other samples i need in memory. loading the bass program without wiping out the memory doesn't seem to work

my question: how do i load the bass program WITHOUT erasing the entire memory so the sequence still keeps the other samples?

To start with, how much RAM your MPC has? If it is the default 16 MB and your bass program is 15 MB, then it is problematic, right. Then you should consider RAM upgrade.

If you have 128 MB RAM then there should be no problem. When you load programs the OS doesn't ask to clear RAM, does it? If it does for some reason, just choose No and proceed.

i appreciate both comments. I have upgraded to 128mb ram so i think i'm good. The second comment is interesting, i'll try doing that...loading the bass samples to a different track...i'll let you guys know if i'm successful or not. Thanks cold snap and brazeca
