when hitting note repeat slowing tempo

hey I just got the jj i'm really diggin the slice funtion , but when I go to hit note repeat it slows my tempo down!
and this sucks cuz i have to reset it each time to the tempo I want. So is there a way to lock the tempo or what ,why is this happening , has anyone eles experienced this bforre?

you might have your tap tempo set up for 2.

But I think if you move the cursur over the tempo and hit window you should be able to turn tempo change off.
