JJ OS 2 prevents you from changing tracks while recording?

Am I missing something or can you no longer change tracks while you're recording/overdubbing in JJOS2? What is the reasoning behind this change? This seems like a catastrophic omission for those who like to overdub layers without having to press stop, which is essential to some for uninterrupted workflow. Unless a new explode/expand feature comes along, JJOS2 as it is seems like a deal breaker to me...

for the record i sent an email to JJ requesting the EXPLODE feature for seq edit about a week ago. i also pointed him to the thread where we were discussing it. i didn't get a response but i'm hopeful we'll see this added in the near future.

i'm pretty sure this can't be done anymore because of some code-limitation. but you still can just record a track, push overdub so the recording stops but the sequence keeps playing, change the track and push overdub + play while it still plays. it switches to record mode again so you actually can record different tracks without having to stop the playback.

I was, until I checked ACTIVE track feature in track mute, it lets you change a track during overdub, BUT when
I selected audiotrack and return to main it was "recording" nothing and anything you can do is stop.
I think that's why you can't change tracks in main, because of audiotracks. So afterall, overdub on and off is a compromise between more coding (skipping/disable audiotracks when recording) and usability.. not limitation. All you want to do is under touch of 1 button off and back on like CommanderRobot said. Thank you.

Ah, ok. You have to push overdub AND play to get back to record mode.

So now you have to turn off overdub, switch to different track, hold overdub and press play in order to record to another track without stopping. That's two extra steps than before which is still kinda annoying but at least there is still a way so I guess I'll just have to get used to it.
