How do I copy all of the tracks within my first 8 measures of my sequence into to empty measures 9-16 which I later added.

I recall being able to do this on the MPC3K.

Thanks for the help guys.

This stupid machine cant do this!

You cant copy sequences to other bars than the first bar. You cant copy part of sequences either..
You cant copy a few tracks together ..

Only way of copying is to go into the seq edit and select all the MIDI notes you want and then paste them wherever you'd like.
Or is there another way wich we dont know?

I hope this will be fixed in the new OS!!!

Sure ya can!
In MAIN, put yer cursor on Bars and hit the magic WINDOW key. There ya can insert blank bars, delete bars or copy any number of bars to any position, with as many repeats as ya need.

ikke, ya sure it's da machine that's stupid?

But me overseeing things all the time is kind of Akai's fault, since the manual SUCKS big time! I just dont look for things anymore.. I gave up.. Or its not there, Or its there but not on the 4k..

mpc1000 aint easier then a mpc4k to work with. PLaying aroudn with the window key is always a good learning experience.

DR. Beat. I'm afraid your wrong on this one. I tried the whole bars and window thing prior to the post. There is no drop down menu that allows you to copy bars. Copy sequences to ANOTHER sequence yes, but to copy entire sequence via bars/or measures NO. I specifically remember the MPC3K giving you the option of copying bars or measures.

On page 81 in the MPC3K this function is under the Seq Edit key menu set to copy bars(All Tracks)

---------------------Copy Bars from-----------------------
Seq: 12-Sequence-name
First Bar: 1 Last bar:2
------------------------Copy Bars To-----------------------
Seq:12-Sequence-name Before bar:1
Copies: 1
---------------------------------------------------------------
<Do it>

It is the same on the MPC 4K except its on the Main page in the Sequence Block (which sequence editing is performed) under Bars with the window button page 6 refer manual. You have to change it to copy bars the layout is the same as above with it saying after instead of before bars. Sequence means to change all patterns in a performance. Seq Edit on the 3K is the same as the Sequence Block on the 4K refer page 6. The Seq Edit button on the 4K is the same as Copy Events on the 3K on page 82 for editing tracks only. The words and Pages and sections are different but the both can do the same functions.

I hope this clears up any misunderstandings it is better to have both manuals. :D

Follow Dr Beat words to the letter and the refer manual helps.

Ok. Now I got it. In the main page, put your cursor on the number that represents number of bars. (Looks like: Bars: 8) Put your cursor where "8" or whatever number it is. Than hit the yellow window button. THAN JOG THE CURSOR until the dialogue box title reads "Edit Bars"

Voila.

Teamwork. Ya gotta love it.
