My MPC 1000 is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow ( :) !!! ). I am obviously going to put on the free JJ OS first thing. My question is, should I immediately upgrade to JJ OS 2? Maybe JJ OS 1? The reason I ask is because I have no MPC (or any sampler for that matter) experience at all. I heard JJ OS 2 is much more advanced than any of the others. I don't want to be overwhelmed right away. So should I go free, learn and wait? Or go to OS 1, learn and wait? Or just to OS 2?

Sorry if I'm rambling. Hope you understood me okay.

I'd say if you can splurge for the extra $80, that os 2 is definitely worth it. There are enough features that make sampling and workflow a lot nicer to deal with that I would say go for it. A lot of the manual that comes with your mpc is still relevant, and just check the stickies at the top of the forum for links to additional manuals for os 1/2 features and you'll be pretty well set towards understanding the instrument.

I have been using OS1 for quite some time now and I love it..... I have yet into a situation where I have not been able to do what I want to do......

If ya got the doeto spend, thn do it... If ya on a budget get OS1, if ya broke, go with 3.08 (Free)... Once I get my exp levels up, I am goign to bounce to OS2..... These guys here swear by it, and if OS1 is any idea of what to expect, then it is def worth the money.

I really dig the workflow of OS2...i just finally made the switch, and I'm super glad i did. I've gone through all the OS's now....have been on JJOS since the beginning, and OS2 is just fantastic. Might as well just jump on it at the beginning.
