midi related again...

( I'm really sorry if u've already answered something similar but for real I searched the forum a lot and I didnt find something close to my problem or at least I didnt get it! )

So, I have my mpc 2500, a plain midi controller (evolution MK 249), and my PC whith a tascam audio/midi interface (us-122). Aight. Now, first off, I would like to know whether it is possible to record from the midi to the mpc using the sounds of fruity or reason.... If so, how should I connect everything? My midi only has a MIDI OUT and the TASCAM audio interface has one MIDI IN and one MIDI OUT.
Everything is so confusing and im so alone in this from day one. I need some help y'all!

PLEASE! I need to find the right way to connect these 3....

Not trying to be funny, But Draw your self a picture of the order that you want everything to be in also write down all of your settings for each piece of gear, and from there it will be all about TRIAL and ERROR!

I have the MPC 2500LE, The MOTIF ES6, TRITON CLASSIC, Mbox 2 PRO, And a MacBook Pro, It took me at least 6 months to figure out how to MIDI it all together, I Googled each piece of gear that I have in regards to MIDI and also READ THE MANUALS, When reading the manuals try to have a clear mind and read it as many times as you have to, read it til you are blue in the face, and make sure that you fully understand what you are reading, It's going to be a frustrating journey but once you figure it out it will be well worth it. and let me rephrase in case u didnt understand what i wanna do : i wanna connect my mpc 2500 with my midi controller and my audio interface. I want everything that's played on my midi controller to be recorded in my mpc.... and if possible i want my midi controller to play the sounds of a software (for example fruity loops or reason), not the ones of the mpc.... am i making myself clear now?

MPC Midi out A -> PC

When you want the MK to control software synths, select the USB connection in device drop down within software app.

When controlling mpc using MK, select midi 1a in main window in mpc.

(you'll also need to play around with MODE -> Midi/Sync - 'pad to internal sound' settings).

That'll get you started.

if you wanted a shortcut and wanted to get on with your creativeness, you could just record the audio in your pc and then import the wav into your mpc. a little easier than fooling with the midi stuff

Now I did everything that Boston told me, and it was really helpfull, I just didnt achieve exactly what I wanted.
I want to record notes from fruity (with fruity's sounds) to my mpc. (using my midi keyboard to play the notes) I dont know if thats possible...
What I achieved with the above connection was the opposite. My mpc became a midi sequencer for fruity. But thats kinda useless... u know. I already have a midi.... So any ideas? Or is it simply impossible for something like that to happen?...

ah, i think that clears it up a bit. you want to record midi notes into your mpc from your midi controller to trigger the sounds on your fl/reason right?

midi through. right out of the manual, page 24:

01. Connect the external MIDI devices as described in
the “Connecting MPC2500 to External Audio/MIDI
device” section on page 6.

Connect the MIDI OUT of the keyboard to the
MPC2500’s MIDI IN, and the MPC2500’s MIDI
OUT to MIDI IN of the external sound module.

Note: You may still want to connect the MPC2500’s stereo out
to a mixer so that you can hear a metronome sound even when
you use the MPC2500 as a MIDI sequencer.

02. In the Type field, select MIDI.

03. In the Pgm field, select OFF or No.

If you select it to the OFF or No., the MPC2500 does
not play internal programs. If you select it to the
No. and set MIDI Program number, MPC2500
transmit the MIDI Program number to the external
sound module for selecting the sound in it when
the sequence is selected.

04. In the Midi field, select a MIDI channel.
Here, you set the MIDI channel to send the MIDI
data on. Set the same channel as the one on of the
sound module.

Tips: By default the MPC2500’s input MIDI channel is set to
receive all MIDI channels, so you don’t have to set the channel to
the keyboard’s MIDI channel.

keyboard midi out => mpc midi in, mpc midi out => your audio interface.

you already tried that? or are you trying to record existing notes from your fl sequence? probably need to rerecord those.
