Upgrading my MPC 5000

Please Fellas,

I intend to upgrade my machine OS and I need some help.

First, I need to know if I can load the OS file on my hard drive and upgrade it from there (MPC HD) since I don't own a CF card.

Second, will I lose all the sample packs I have stored on my Hard Drive with this upgrading or after this operation my samples will remain opn the HD?

I dont think you can use the HD to load the OS, also no, everything on the HD will still be there, nonthing will change

I think you must have a CF card because it never worked for me until I got my CF card

Do you have a CD Drive?? Maybe you can try burning to CD and have 5k read CD Drive at bootup first?

The 5k is only upgradable via CF card
