I turned my 2000XL on yesterday after a couple of days of inactivity. I notice how it takes a bit longer than normal to start up, and when its done the buttons doesn't respond. At least not like they should. It takes about 10 pushes to the "down" cursor to mark "tempo". When on tempo, i turn the jog wheel about a gazillion turns but its like it's got a will of it's own.. changing the tempo up and down and ignoring my inputs. It continues to change it even when im not touching anything. Random menus keeps popping up at will and can't be closed. Its impossible to do anything in other words. I have tried to remove the memory to see if that might be where the problem lies, it wasn't. I also opened it up to check that all the cables were properly connected and they were. Nothing looks broken, and it has been standing fixed on my desk since last time i used so its probably not any physical problem. Is there anyway to reset the machine? Like back to factory style on cellphones.
I cant maneuver it to read a floppy disk so reinstalling the OS from floppy would be out of the question. It's extremely disturbing this.
Any help is appreciated.
