is it possible that it'll work with a 1GB CF Card without upgrading the mpc?? i'm just asking because i actually don't want to upgrade it when i don't have to. i'm sure, when i upgrade it something won't work anymore.

ok, now i've just formatted the cf card on the mpc. and guess what, it works somehow :D but i think that the mpc can't read 2gb with this OS. when i save something it shows the free place on the disk and it says something like 600MB. so i'm a bit anxious how long this card will work properly :? anyway, thanks for your support.peace

Internal card reader is ATAPI, and has a 40pin data ribbon cable (different cable than floppy).

Change the mpc SETUP to ATAPI to have the MCD working as the primary drive.

os120 is for 1gb cards if i remember correctly.

I have an internal mcd in my 2kxl, I use os114, I have 2 x 512mb cards.

The drive I have is IDE/ATAPI just like the MPC's slot reads, it's 40 pin. I've changed the jumper from Master to slave, back to master again, flipped the cables around (actually, if you do it incorrectly, the MPC will light up like a christmas tree) and tried various different ribbon cables. Last night, I did get the "ATAPI" indication once on the load/save screen, but it kept saying "NO FLOPPY DEVICE!!." Now, i can't get that to show up anymore. I've also tried it with a memory card installed, and without.
I was doing a search on this site, and it seems like a lot of people have had issues with the card readers. Then, for some reason, they get it to work with no explanation. I've installed a few internal ZIP drives on the MPC's before, and I can't understand why this one isn't working. I've also gone back to v1.14, nothing seems to work, but it looks like (from searching on the net) that the Addonics Dididrive's are compatible.
I swear, I've turned this MPC on and off at least 50 times in the last few days.
PS, when I try to change the setup, the only options I have is Floppy, SCSI 0-7, and F-ROM. No ATAPI. :(

I had all of the above problems but it turned out to be a faulty card, so double check that first before you cut your fingers up too bad!

Oh, and by the way... I only get the option "ATAPI" when a disc is inserted. With no disc I get "No Floppy Drive!!!" or whatever it says.

thanks for your support. in the setup menu is allready ATAPI. i mean the mp could read the 1GB SD Card, so i think the problem isn't in the setup feature.i think it's the 2GB that makes the mpc angry(in the meantime the mpc could read the card, because i formated it on the mpc. but now the pc can't read it anymore  ). i think i'm goin to buy a 1GB CF Card and see what happens.
