Click at the VST link at the top of the forum. The MPC 5000 is going for $2500 maxed out....while other retailers are advertising them for $2600 stock. In Japan they cost almost $3500.

Nah, it's for Labor Day Weekend. I had the sales guy hold one for me, but when I got to the store and was playing with the display model, I decided to wait on getting the MPC5000. Although Guitar Center is selling it for a great price, just doesn't feel like the other MPC's.

Yeah, those Labor Day weekend sales are sweet. I couldn't believe all the deals I saw.
I wanted to walk outta there with another Gibson SG for $549, but I just bought an SG Junior for $499 in the beginning of the summer at a local guitar store. Then I was tempted to buy a new bass guitar as well. But I only went there to buy my mother an acoustic guitar for her birthday and had to catch up with my bills this weekend as well.
All the good sales happen when I'm trying to catch up on my bills. So I had to get outta there before ending up broke and in more debt.

BTW, I gotta say that the build quality on the 5000 felt tight for the most part... even though I only checked it out for about 2 minutes. I just wish that the plastic wrist-rest on the front was made of rubber instead. But I'm sure that someone will come out with an after-market product for that sometime in the future.

Well if VST Service is selling them maxed out (w/ memory and CD drive) for $2500....then they are actually selling them even lower than GC.

Also....it is best to order things out of state and on-line so you can avoid paying state sales taxes.
