yeah, i found a dps here (in switzerland), looks like brandnew and for sure - i bought it!! yeah, for 1800.- (SwissFrancs).... (1500-1800 Dollars?!)...

I think, it was the best buy I ever did....!! Damn, I'm happy about it... I searched for a DPS24 for a long time, and now i got one for less money.... with cd-drive and 80GB harddisc.....

Few years ago i sold my roland VS1680 For a Daw,nowadays i think that pc hardware i cheaper than ever and for less money you can make a good pc with more Gb of storage and a good audio card,i bought an used Echodigital Audio Fire 12 for 290€ and a 16Channel mixer with 8 direct out for 250€, it's the same thing that hardware multitrack but you can have more audio plug ins and more editing possibilities!

I worked with DAW's in PC also, but i hate it now.... i love the hardware stuff, it's more fun for me, personal feeling, and I don't need "more audio plugins and more editing possibilities", cause the editing, what i hardly never use, cause i do my whole sequenzing and stuff in mpc, is good enough in dps24!! and audio plugins...what do I need 4 audio plugins?? in fact, if i have a good equalizer and a good comp, i have everything i need.... effects it has also in the dps, and if you have also a good multieffect-rack-gear, than also, it's enough.... and if I want to use a plugin from pc anytime, I easy could do it, also if I work with a hardware multitracker..... No problem....

but the sound that comes out the DPS!! wow- i love this multitracker.....

I totally agree. Work with a pc at work, why on earth would I want to stare at one in the studio when I could be working with hardware and using my ears?!

I had never heard of the DPS series until now - I take it the converters are top notch compared to other brands? Over a £1k on a multitrack in this day in age is an awful lot of money...

It's only my opinion,i like hardware too in fact i use pc like an audio multitrack not in midi mode,the 8 out of my mpc are connected in my analog mixer and i plug the 8 channel into my audiocard!!!!that's it!!!!

If you decide you want to use a VST plug-in with your DPS24, check out a program called Console. http://www.console.jp You can connect the DPS via ADAT into your PC, if you have an ADAT interface, then route your ADAT channels through console to your Plug-ins. and RECORD them to the DPS. All in real time.

Hey Adrian, I think you might have raised some eyebrows with that.

It is a sweet set-up. It can also be done using Analog connections using an MPC. There is a tutorial on the console website.

sounds like marketing......i question how well it really works and what audio interfaces are supported

and ftw DPS won't hold a candle to a high end interface
