Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

Hi, im new on the MPC500 since last night, i already figured out alot, on my own, with a little help from the manual.
But something is bugging me,
Im making 2 samples from lets say an old song, making it just 2 chops, put it on my card, put it on my mpc, done.
Making it to an program of just 2 pads, so yeah, i got my 2pads with the chops, but when i press one pad(1) and i want to press the other pad(2) pad(1) keeps playing and is overlapping with pad(2), i want pad(1) to stop when i press pad(2). How can i do this? Thanks in advance,
also, (this aint so important as my first question, but if you can answer this one aswell it'll be awesome)
If i'm recording its only doing like 1bar. How can i make it lets say 2bars, or 4bars?

I'm hoping you guys can help me, so i can help others on these forums as soon as i figure things out! And i'm sorry for my english, im from the netherlands!

All you need is to assign the same mute group to both pads. It's in the Program mode (mode + pad 4). Scroll until you have a 'Mute group' screen. Choose, say, 1 for the first pad. Then press the second pad, and choose 1 again. That will do the trick. Important: Mute group has to be the same for both pads. For further info: read chapter on Programs in the manual.

Awesome! Can you also explain my second question? If not, thanks for your answer!

To edit the # of bars in your sequence, go to the sequence params and edit the sequence length

Or just use 'Note On'. When you have that on, the sample assigned to the pad your hitting will only play as long as you hold the pad down.

Yeah DPM, i already figured that out. But now its different, i can play the pad without holding it down but when i press another pad it stops and goes on with the pad i just pressed.
Thx for your reply and help!
