I only reuse samples if i decide to scrap a previous beat

same. each project, started from scratch. i may unintentionally reuse a layered drum sound, but that's a blue moon event.

so even if i use loads of chops.. a lot of the samples will have similar names, and usually related to whatever instrument ive sampled in the first place.
but this is the clincher for me: If i derive further chops etc from the parent sounds then the new sounds are grouped near the originals... and with the undo seq key are easily incorporated into an exisiting program.

identical, here.

also - after chopping a sample into 32 pieces, if i create a variation of one of the chops, it will be grouped with the others as SAMPLE33.wav. otherwise, this new sample would be placed at the end of the list. this is definitely not as handy.

an "option" view in sample list might be nice, to swap back and forth between last loaded/sampled and alphabetical, but i'm already very accustomed/happy with alphabetical (no, it wasn't my idea!)

The option for a few sort options couldn't hurt...

Alpha Numeric ascending/descending sort
Import Order ascending/descending sort
Sample Date ascending/descending sort

Though I do think I am curious about one thing that I never noticed about the old way. Since the old way ordered the samples by the time they were imported, when you loaded up a project later were they in the same order or could it essentially be random?

Dont know, never had to look through that list. Load, assign to pad and forget about the name...

Ina oldschool way when you loaded a project or folder next time, they were listed alphabeticaly. It's not such a a big deal, really. I'm used to new order.. used to looking for the sample, j/k
2 ways of sorting files would be nice.. or I'll start to put "A" or "Z" prefix for additional samples, that's all.
