Ok I got a problem here...

I just loaded about 80MB of samples to my 2GB CF Card. Now when I try to load the card's drive it freezes up on the computer and the MPC... How can I format or delete???? Thankfully I made back ups of every beat I saved on it. Smart thinking me!! haha Thanks!

Even though nobody replied with any advice, I found the problem if anyone else experiences this. I have a 2GB CF card and saved a little bit over 2GB. The 2GB CF card is actually 1.8GB. If you save any over this, it will lock it up and force you to format the card. So always make sure you know how much space you have left before saving anything.

It forces you to format? Can you explain this in detail?

Basically if you go over the amount your card holds and try an access the card drive on your MPC your MPC will freeze up everytime. It will also freeze up on your comp, so formatting it on your MPC is your only option. The main thing to take away from this all is "DON'T GO OVER YOUR MAXIMUM STORAGE CAPACITY LIMIT!" If you do you WILL lose ALL files saved on your CF card.

Let me ask you this. Let's say you put a CF card in your computer and attempt to store more info than it can hold. Will it freeze up your computer? I am trying to determine if this is a CF card issue or something that happens specifically with an MPC 5K.

Yeah, if you catch it while on your comp transfering files and delete some to make fit you'll be alright. But if you try an access it with the MPC while over its capacity, freeze city. So it's definitely the MPC.
