MPC5000 reviews, bug reports and fellow user support on the most recent standalone, hardware MPC from Akai

Well contrary to what everyone is saying (except a few of you of course), I just got the MPC 5000 and I love this joint! I just upgraded from the 2500LE, actually traded plus a little dough and couldn't be happier! I love the feel, the synth is actually better than I thought it would be, but most of all the screen and the new features like hard disk recording and the extra Q-Links make this ideal for me!

Say what you want, but in my opinion, this sh!t is off the chain! I know there are bugs and as a long time MPC user (2000, 2000XL, 1000, 2500LE, and now the 5000), they all had and have bugs, so what? So far it works well for me and I feel confident that Akai will fix the issues it has.

Just thought you all would like to know my experience?

PEACE OUT and Keep on Keepin On!

I'm feeling more confident after reading you comments you guys who have been using MPC's for long time. That's the first MPC I own and use, and I was a little bit worrdied when I read negative comments on it, I thought like "Oh I have threw USD 3800 away thinking I was the first one to get an MPC 5000 in Angola". Mainly when I read Just Blaze's rant. But now I'm calm.

Thank U guys for being positive and keep helping people perfect their production skillz.

One,

Ken

yes I also feel the same way. My mpc 5000 and I have had our brushes but in reality this machine is a BEAST... this thing kicks some serious ass.

it's functional but once it really gets going it will be unstoppable, a force to be reckoned with.

The people saw the tag "5000" & assumed it would be the best sampler ever made.
I had brushes w/ a demo w/ memory not unloading, but I also love the built in synth and knobs.
The was the best part about the RS was knobs to turn for about every parameter.
The RS pads were all in a row tiny, clicky, & not volume sensitive.
Before I get to rambling I'd say the 4K has its ups & the 5K has its ups, so they will prob. tie.
Do you want 24/96 & 512mb ram or a built in synth & more hands on control?
That would be a personal choice I'd say. I'm confident it will be a beast.
I unfortunately didn't get or don't get to test it now, because I had to replace my MV w/ a new MV, so my 45 day return won't give me ample time to test both now.
I got love for MPC's even though it looks like I'm staying MV.
I know it wouldn't be possible w/o an MPC.
The 5K will go down as 1 of the at least top 5 samplers ever made I'd say.
It is kind of like arguing Chevy vs. Ford though. Everybody feels different.
Anyhow, congrats on your new MPC I'd be happy to have anything that monstrous in my set up.

Thank You All for the reply's and I am glad to see that I am not alone in my bliss! But, even if I was (alone) that would be OK with me, because in the end who cares what someone else thinks about your gear? If you can make it knock then you got it on lock!

PEACE and Keep On Keepin' On!

Add me to the list of 5k owners!!!!. I've had it for a week now. While there are some things that piss me off about the OS, I like this MPC a lot! Sold the 4k and don't regret it. I truly believe (hope) Akai is paying attention to the forums and the features request. Tomazzzi's list is right on point! I totally agree with his and most of the request in the forums? This has the potential to be the best MPC ever if Akai does the right thing. I'll have a more detailed review after I spend a little more time with it.
