midi problems

Hey all
i'm having some problem with midi, i know this is a mpc forum , but i know someone out there can help me. I have a MPC 1000, a Korg Trinity v3, and a Roland xv5050 module. I'm trying to connect these together using the mpc as the slave. i can play the first track out the 5050 and that is it. i can't go to the next track,just track one. The way i have everything connected is (MPC 1000 out to the in of the Korg) (The Korg out to the in of the xv5050 module). The problem i can't switch to the next track on the xv5050. Help anyone, But first do i have something wrong? Im going to get a motief rack Monday, but i need to get this straight. Please anyone

In my opinion, you're going to deal with a lotta shortcomings by daisy chaining your stuff. But if you have to, I'd start with the korg as the master (using the midi out), going into the mpc's midi in port, then use the outs of the mpc to branch out to the 5050 & etc.

I'd say get yourself a 2x4 or better midi interface and a basic daw program and you're in.

Look at it like this, with all the devices you have and by daisy chaining, you'll only be limited to just 16 midi channels.

Versus using a midi interface or hub, you'll have more dedicated individual outs to work with.

Hey i have a 2x4 midi interface (midi sport) i do understand what u are saying. what is a DAW program? I forgot 2 say i'm running a fast track pro interface for protools m-powered. That is okay, i can trigger that. with this midi sport 2x4 how will i use it?
