Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I need to trigger the PLAY START button of my MPC using midi. Also is there a way of changing sequences via midi.
I want to use my MPC2000xl live. I play drums and want to set up a couple of drum triggers that I can use to play start/stop a sequence and another pad to switch to the next sequence. I can set up drum triggers to send a keyboard on/off note style midi message.
Thanks

shift + 9 gets you to the mid/sync menu
turn sync in to midi time code i think
should allow you to kick off the mpc with another sequencer

However, if you're just trying to push some midi button and start it, you'll have to use sysex which could get a little complicated, but not too hard if you know what you're doing.
Start by finding the mpc's sysex implementation chart - can't help you there i'm afraid but try google

I think I've cracked it. There is a MIDI footswitch page which allows you to assign MIDI to different functions of the sequencer ie play/start button, stop button etc. Can't find a next sequence 1 tho which is a bit annoying.

I'm going to use roland drum pads into a trigger midi converter. Then send the midi signals to the MPC.
